On Sep. 25th I will have officially spent 30 years on this planet. As I reflect on 29+ years of life, I feel a deep gratitude. It has been and continues to be a great life because of my friends & family, and the privilege that others have worked to build.

In our privilege, we take for granted our access to clean drinking water, safe shelter, and freedom from oppression (comparably).

While normal for everyone in my community, that is not the way it works for millions around the world. Fortunately, we can make a difference.

This is the third consecutive year I've donated my birthday to Charity: Water, an immensely impactful organization that prides itself on transparency and results. This means that 100% of our donations go to providing clean drinking water for those that have none. They return about 4:1 on each dollar spent, allowing communities to build for the future and improve their lives.

Though we gift dollars to the cause, each year I feel it's me who receives the gift because of your donation with me as a small reason.

Thank you to those who donate to this cause, or others with similar missions. Even if you can’t donate this year, setting the intention to do so later is also worthy of appreciation.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.
