Last year was my first year supporting charity:water, and I was blown away by the support I received! We raised over $6,000 and gave the gift of clean drinking water to over 300 people, in support of my x-mas & 39th birthday.

Well, that wasn't good enough. This year's a much bigger year, and I'm going BIG or going home. For my 40th birthday, I want to raise $40,000 and be able to provide 2,000 people with live saving, clean drinking water. And there's no better place to do that than with charity:water.

100% - yes, 100% of your donation goes directly to fund the building of these wells. How many charitable organizations can you say that about?

Why Water? Almost a billion people on the planet don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water. That’s one in eight of us.

And each week this campaign runs 37,800 children under the age of five will die from unsafe water or unhygienic living conditions.

I've seen these conditions firsthand in many countries throughout Africa & Asia - and the photo above speaks volumes. Mothers & children walk for miles to find water that will more than likely make them sick. I took this photo in a township in Namibia, where like many other places in the developing world, water is a sacred commodity. Something we all take for granted every day.

Your donation of $40 will provide clean, safe drinking water to 2 people - for 20 years! How else can you make that kind of impact on someone's life with such a small amount?

For each $5,000 we raise, another well gets built somewhere that needs it most - that's 8 total, hopefully. Want your name on one of those wells? For each top donor, for each well, your name will go on the plaque of that well.

So, my x-mas wish & 40th Bday gift wish again is simple - give $5, $20, $40, $400, $4,000 or whatever else you can afford, so we can reach our goal and give clean drinking water to 2,000 people for the next 20 years!
