This campaign closed on Mar 31, 2014 Christopher Barger brought clean water to Korlabe.
By playing poker for a night at SXSW, you can provide clean water to hundreds of people!
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, 5,000 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
At SXSW, Porter Novelli is holding a poker tournament that you can play in by raising or donating $50 to charity:water. All proceeds go to charity:water -- and in the meantime you can enjoy a poker tournament and networking with other SXSW attendees, media and influencers.
The tournament is Friday, March 7 at the Rattle Inn on W. 6th Street in Austin, from 6 pm-2 am. Please consider playing and donating to this campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help. Be sure to note in your donation who you are or who you're donating on behalf of, so we can ensure that everyone who's ante'd in can play! Use the hashtag #pnsxswpoker as well. Thanks!
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Your donation will help change that.
100% of the money raised by this campaign is being used to bring clean water to help those in need. In 21 months we’ll be able to show you exactly where the money went and who it helped.
