As part of becoming a Bat Mitzvah, I thought it was time to start thinking outside of my own needs more and to do good deeds as often as possible. When I found out that something as simple as clean water could change the lives of millions of people, I knew that my Mitzvah Project would involve water.

I learned that countless people on this planet -- young and old -- walk miles every day just to get water to drink, it made me feel incredibly sad. There are the girls who skip school to lug 40-pound cans of water on their backs. And the families who try to heal their children back to health after a waterborne illness has sickened them.

I challenge my friends and family to join me in donating to support water projects all over the world. It doesn't have to be a large amount. We can change the world for the cost of a movie ticket. Pass it on. xo Claire
