TLDR
It's shocking when you discover that we only have access to 1% of all the water on Earth and even more shocking to know that 663 million people live without clean water, that's 1 in 10 people. Hard to imagine, especially when you think about how much clean water we flush down the toilette.

The reality is, every day thousands of children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. In some parts of the world, Millions of women and children spend a majority of their time crossing deserts on a quest for water. Not only does walking for water keep children out of school or take up time that parents could be using to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that can make everyone sick.

How come we don't value something that is vital to sustaining all of life? Yes, It's heartbreaking, but it does not have to be this way.

The silver lining here is that there are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
