Uncontroversial Opinion Alert – People everywhere deserve clean water.
Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. For people in developing countries, clean water can change everything. I recently came across this amazing organization called charity: water that is doing so much to get clean water to the people that need it the most. When I heard this sweet girl's story, I was inspired to "donate" my birthday as well.

The idea is simple. Thanks to God and many of you, my needs are met. So instead of getting me more stuff, let’s work together to get more people clean water. I'm turning 33 this year so if you can give $33, that will help 1 additional person get clean water. If you can give more, that's great. If you can give less, that's perfectly fine too. The founder of this organization describes it like this: "Giving up our birthdays for other people - so they can have more birthdays." What a beautiful way to celebrate!
One more thing about this specific charity - private donors cover their operating costs so 100% of your money can fund water projects. 100%! That’s unheard of and they will also send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped. That's incredibly comforting to know when you give.
Happy birthday!
