I figure I'm healthy, happy and have friends and family that I love. I dont really need much for my birthday so I figure why not help someone else in need. I found this site while watching the CEO speak on Bloomberg Television and I thought it was a great idea. Also, even if you werent going to give me a present (sad face), now you can give me a present by helping someone else drink clean water (happy face). $20 bucks helps 1 person to drink clean water. Also, Bloomberg will match 50% of whatever is donated!
I take water for granted. I think most of us do, due to living in a first world country, but anyone who's visited a third world country and has gone into the community, you know that water is not something that is taken for granted. When I travelled to Kenya in 2000 and visited different villages within Masai Mara, I immediately noticed there was no running water and this is something I have never forgot. All humans should be able to drink water when needed, lets help to make this happen. I set the goal at $1,000, but if I make it to $5,000 I get a well with my name on it (they give you a GPS coordinate and a photo of the site). You can bet your ass I will be visiting it if this happens and sending a pic to you all w/ my mug on it.
well, well, lets make that goal. what a wonderful way to celebrate your special day!
In honor of my son! (Not my favorite son but I'm told I should treat them all equally)
In honor of my favorite son, Corey Spells.
Happy Birthday Corey!
