Dear family, friends, and occasional stalkers, I’m turning 28 this month. Some people think that’s when your Saturn Return begins. If you’re one of those: wish me luck, I’ll need it.

My 27th year on this earth has been one of the most beautiful, exciting years of my life. I’ve had a few big dreams become a reality, some of which I’ve been working my whole life for. To make all of this even better, I’ve been able to share them with some of you and with my best friend and life partner, who’s as crazy as I am ( thanks for jumping out of that plane with me, Gatto) - I’m so grateful for each and every single experience I’ve lived and person I’ve met and, above all, I’m grateful to the one thing that really made all of this possible... accessible, clean water.
Yup. Most of my life I’ve given it for granted but the truth is, if I hadn’t had access to water, the amazing experiences I had this past year (and my whole life really), would have never happened.
It baffles me that in 2019, in so many places in the world, so many communities still don’t have access to something so essential. That’s unfair and it breaks my heart and I wish it didn’t have to be that way, because it doesn’t. If you, like me, have a sink in your home, you too are living proof that there is something that can be done about it.
That’s way I’ve been supporting Charity: Water for the past year with a monthly contribution, because I believe in their mission and because I believe they’re doing this charity thing right!
100% of the money is used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water sends us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped. I love their transparency and that’s the reason why I’ve decided not to spend money on celebrating my birthday this year and create this campaign instead. I hope you’ll join me in this effort with a small contribution.
Honestly, if you were planning on bringing me out for dinner, lunch or even just for coffee, you should know that this is going to be so, so much cheaper! I’m joking (not really), but know that even just the smallest donation goes a really long way to help an amazing cause.
In exchange for your generousity, I will give you a shoutout on social media and/or send you a picture of me in my unicorn onesie or, when possible, and if it doesn’t compromise my reputation more than what I did on stage this past summer ( cough, cough- Mamma Mia 2), I will take into consideration requests for personalized perks. Just so you know though, I can’t sing.
