I don't quite know what's going on, but my parents have decided that since they're throwing me a fun splish-splash party for my bday, it would be a phenomenal idea to swap my gifts for donations to a charity that helps poor people have access to clean water!

Please don't feel obliged to bring me a gift, but if you insist, please consider donating here INSTEAD! Don't worry about me missing out on gifts, my grandparents won't be able to resist spoiling me with some! I think it's a pretty good deal, and I know I'll be proud of this once I can fully understand what just happened :)

Many of us take the luxury of clean water for granted. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean! But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. Also, some people have to walk 10's of km just to get to clean water, with many, especially women, forgoing an education to undertake that task. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world. We've supported charity:water in the past and seen campaigns come to life with the help and support of our friends.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
