Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have access to clean water. Every day, 5,000 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilling wells, building spring protectors and inserting BioSand filters that can help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me. The charity:water project focus for the next three months is on India. Since yoga is a big part of my life and I have India to thank for that, on December 7th, I plan to do 108 sun salutations to help fund water projects in India. Why 108? In Buddhist and Hindu traditions, 108 is a magical sacred number. There are 108 Hindu gods and perhaps just by coincidence, the radius of the moon is 108 miles! There are also 108 beads on a Tibetan prayer mala which some believe symbolic of 108 human delusions or forms of ignorance. I suppose with each salutation I hope to rinse away a little bit of delusion and bring us closer to a planet where there can be clean water for everybody.
