My birthday is on 2/7. I'll be 27 this year. Let's party and fight world suck by getting folks some clean water.

I usually try not to make a big deal of my birthday, and I don't really ask people for presents, but this year I am: I want to give some folks the gift of clean water, and I'm hoping you can help me out!

Clean water is the most important issue facing humanity today. Solving it would do more for the human race than any other any other humanitarian project one could think of. Just think of the benefits: less disease, better health care, more time for economic and leisure activities, lower infant mortality, and on and on and on ...

What I am asking for is a couple of dollars from the people I know, with the aim of helping out in our own little way. Maybe you get festive for my 27th birthday, and give $2.70!* Or maybe you get really festive (and generous!), and give $27! Or if you just want to give whatever amount you want, that's fine, too! Any donation, big or small, would mean an awful lot to me—like it really is difficult to put into words how awesome it would make me feel.

(*it might make you round it up to $3, but you can always pretend; I won't mind)

Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 21 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.

So let's have a party and get some folks some clean water! What do you say?
