My birthday is almost here. I'm not usually excited about getting older, but this year I'm really thankful to have lived another happy, healthy year. charity: water is doing an amazing, inspiring September campaign to raise money to provide clean drinking water to families in Orissa, India. Clean water is something we just expect and take for granted; we forget that there are parts of the world where millions of kids don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that.

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries, ours will be for Orissa, India. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.

You all know I've seen my share of charities in my 10 years in the sector. charity: water is one where I truly think we can send karma to the world; where we can do our part to change it.
