Dear Friends,

The holidays are back! And tis the season of Black Friday stampedes, lavish meals, family gatherings and New Year’s festivities. Though many are making their lists and checking them twice, I have but one wish this year: to raise $2,500 for clean and safe drinking water. No gifts, just donations. All around the world, from the cold deserts of Peru to the high hills of Rwanda, there are over 800 million people that drink water that’s likely to make them sick. That’s 1 in 9 of us. Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. But there are easy solutions!

Clean and safe water is often just a few hundred feet below the surface in the form of aquifers. Organizations like charity: water help communities tap into this essential resource. And water changes everything; women don’t have to trek for miles collecting dirty water, children spend more time in school, and of course, less people contract waterborne illnesses.

So please join me this holiday season in helping me raise much needed funds for charity: water. 100% of your donations will go directly to the field to fund a project. Better yet, when the project we fund is complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates to show you the exact community that each of your dollars helped. If we can raise $2,500, we can provide clean and safe water for over 125 people.
