The avg US citizen wastes appx 2 gallons of water daily. 5000 children die every day for a lack of drinking water.
We are incredibly blessed at EMC to have well paid jobs and homes for our families that give us comfort. One of the amenities of life we take for granted is water.
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean! The often recommended amount of clean water for drinking and hygiene is 1 gallon per person. The EPA estimates the average citizen wastes upwards of 2 gallons per person in the US! How much water does your water sprinkler waste? You get the picture.
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, thousands of kids die from water-related illnesses before they even reach their fifth birthday. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand Filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
Please donate to the Texas campaign to help those who are less fortunate than us -- anything you can give is a huge help.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
I'm asking folks donate at $20 per person but ANY amount would be of help to so many for who water makes the difference between life and death.
