This year (23 January) I will turn 30 and as it's such a "big" birthday I don't want to let it pass by without doing something special and different...

Some time ago I came across a website which helps you raise funds for building wells in countries where there is little or no access to clean water and I decided that I wanted to use this site to start a fundraising project for my birthday.

To think that my birthday, which we'll celebrate here in Siena, could make a difference for many people who don't have access to clean drinking water on the other side of the World is amazing and so I'd really like to encourage you to not buy me a gift but use the money for my birthday gift and give the equivalant of 30 US Dollars (22.50 Euro, 19 Pounds), one for each my year (If you want to give more obviously you can).

The Bible is clear about God's love for needy people and I feel that helping other people who are more needy than me is something that honours God!

Quest'anno (23 Gennaio) compio 30 anni. Mi sembrava un traguardo troppo importante per lasciarlo passare inosservato e quindi ho deciso di fare qualcosa di speciale..

Qualche tempo fa ho trovato questo sito che permette di avviare delle campagne di raccolta fondi per la costruzione di pozzi d'acqua e ho deciso di utilizzare il loro servizio per avviare una raccolta fondi in occasione del mio trentesimo compleanno.

L'idea è quella di raccogliere dei soldi per poter costruire un pozzo li dove vive gente che non ha ancora accesso ad acqua pulita. Pensare che il mio compleanno, celebrato a Siena, possa fare la differenza per tante persone che non hanno accesso ad acqua potabile dall'altra parte del mondo è fantastico ed è per questo che vi incoraggio a rinunciare a farmi un regalo di compleanno e donare 30 Dollari (22,50 Euro, 19 Sterline), uno per ogni mio anno d'età.

La Bibbia ci dice chiaramente che Dio ha a cuore tutti coloro che sono nel bisogno e ritengo che aiutare chi ha più bisogno di me sia qualcosa che onori il mio Dio!
