This year our girl scout troop went on a water journey. We•LOVE Water - We became aware of the many ways we use and enjoy water. We understand the science of water and its importance in the world, we also made a personal commitment to protect it.
We•SAVE Water - We spoke up as advocates to protect water or keep it clean in our community. We realize the impact that our group efforts can produce.
We•SHARE Water - We decided to create an even bigger ripple by sharing our efforts for water with people we know, by educating and inspiring them to join in, and asking them to commit to a water promise.

During our journey we learned about the water crisis in other countries and how girls in particular, are affected.
We learned that some girls don't attend school because they spend their days walking miles for water for the family to use for cooking and cleaning. Others may have to leave school to walk home, which may be miles away, for privacy to use the toilet, because there are none at their schools.

Clean drinking water is a basic human need and more than a billion people on the planet don't have access to it.

We are on a mission to change this. There are 11 girls in our troop. We are donating $11/girl from our cookie money sales and we are each asking 11 people we know to donate $11 so we can fund water projects in developing countries. 100% of every dollar we raise goes toward project costs. And when the projects are finished (about 18 months), charity: water will show us just where they were built and who is using them!

We want to raise $1500 -- that's enough to give 75 families clean water nearby. That's a lot of kids back in school! If we raise more, we can help more.
