Dear Friends and Family,

This year, I've decided to donate my 26th birthday to Charity: Water. I heard about them recently and think it is a really good organization that uses donor money to drill/build wells and water purification systems in Africa for villages who have very little, or no access to clean water.

One of the main ways they raise money is having people donate their birthdays by asking friends and family to donate their age ($26) to the charity through my birthday campaign. There are some really cool stories of people raising quite a bit of money, so I'm asking you all to donate $26 to my birthday campaign to help Clean: Water sponsor projects that will provide clean drinking water for areas of the world that do not have access. There really are a lot of cool stories on the site, and they show pictures and videos of the villages that were directly helped by different campaigns' fundraising.

One of my favorite parts about this charity (aside from helping people who need clean water) is that 100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped. They actually get big corporate sponsors to donate the money needed for overhead to run the charity, so literally all of the money we raise will go toward helping a village.
