I first found out about charity water around 3 years ago through a youtube video and was really moved by how Scott Harrison was radically transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. Because of his faith, he started placing his focus on others that are in need instead of living for himself.

Looking back I have never been generous with my own earnings, especially through charity giving because I have no idea where the money is going to. But personally, it is more because of the scarcity mindset that I have built up growing up and would rather save than spend. I always see generosity as an overflowing of love and compassion, but recently, I also see it as a muscle that you can practice. Practicing giving is slowly transforming my mindset and puts my focus on others instead of myself. Instead of receiving gifts for myself, I want to bless others that need gifts way more than I do. I am truly thankful for how God has placed me in a comfortable city in Hong Kong and New York where I could receive education and love from many others, but we can do so much more for the people in need. I hope that this is also an opportunity for you to practice generosity and reflect Christ's love for the people in need.

Charity water was the first organization I finally committed to giving 6 months ago with two simple reasons: (1) I know that my giving is 100% going to the people in need (2) water is such a basic necessity that everything else seems trivial.
Many villages or towns in the world still do not have close wells to draw water, and some parent and children spend their entire day using jerry cans or buckets just to get water. Personally, I think having water that will not get you sick is a given if you want the next generation to be educated and have comfort. Charity water helps provide clean water to communities by creating drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world. All the money you donate will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
