On May 17th, I'm turning 25.

This year, I'd like to celebrate my birthday a little differently by donating my birthday to charity: water. I've been volunteering for this organization for a while now and given my years of experience with other non-profits, I can say with certainty that this is one of the best out there. 100% of all money donated goes directly towards their water projects in developing countries. Not only that, anyone who donates (even you through my birthday campaign) receives pictures, GPS coordinates, and proof of the exact well your money will go towards on Google Earth when it is complete!


Why did I choose water?

I found out that millions of kids don't live to see their 5th birthday because they didn't have access to clean, safe water. And those kids that do survive, well they typically walk over 3 miles every day to collect water. And sadly, often the only water they have is sitting stagnant in contaminated ponds and flowing through streams and rivers polluted by animal and human waste. And the time spent collecting water keeps children out of school and women from pursuing economic activities.

Unsafe water and a lack of basic sanitation causes 80% of all disease in the world and kills 4,500 children every day. That's more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.


To celebrate my 25th birthday, I'm asking for $25 from everyone I know - and every cent of the money raised will go directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations.

My goal is to raise $1,500.

Please consider helping me, even if it is for less than $25. $20 alone can give one person clean, safe water for 20 years.
