Why Jeremy Hooper is fundraising for clean water

I enjoy running, but I have never had the desire to run a marathon. I just didn't see the point. Why put myself through such an unnecessary amount of pain and discomfort? Well, in a little less than three months, I'm going to run in the Philadelphia Marathon. That's 26.2 miles of sweating, pushing, and giving everything I've got (seriously!)

Sounds rough, right? Well imagine doing all of that without clean water.

Every week, millions of women and their children walk more than 14 miles just to get water for their families. Most of this water is contaminated, but it's the only water they have. They take the chance of catching diseases with every sip. They have to push through their pain every day, just for something I am able to walk a few steps to get.

So, what can we do together?

My mission is to raise $2,500 for water. That will provide one community on the path to receive a well that will provide clean drinking water. I want every step to matter. I'm asking for donations to help achieve my goal.

Because of charity: water's unique model, 100% of all donations go directly to water projects, and each donation is "proved" when projects are complete.

I hope you'll join me in helping them now, because water changes everything. Every dollar counts, so feel free to give big or small!

As an added bonus, the person who donates the highest amount will receive an autographed 8x10 photo of me at the finish line, made out especially to you. Trust me, that will be a once in a lifetime photo!
