Have you ever gone a single day in your life without safe, clean drinking water?
Right now, almost 1 billion people live without clean drinking water. About 4,100 children die each day due to clean drinking water. 80% of all disease is caused by a lack of clean drinking water and sanitation. Dirty drinking water can cause diarrhea, dehydration, and even death.
But we can change that. I'm giving up my birthday, and asking everyone I know to donate to charity: water instead of giving me gifts. 100% of the money raised will go directly to water projects in developing nations with GPS coordinates and pictures showing the projects as proof (which takes about 18 months.) In 18 months, you can see the difference in the lives of others across the world.
