Hello friends,
I'm 38 today. I reached this "ripe old age" because I had the luck to be born in a first-world nation with access to clean, safe drinking water my entire life. Millions of children across the world aren't that fortunate. They live in undeveloped or under-developed nations where clean water is only accessible to the rich.
Most of them don't live past 5. That's right, five years old.
Charity: Water seeks to bring clean drinking water to people who need it around the world, including those children.
So this birthday, instead of giving a gift to me, help me give a gift to the world. I'm asking everyone I know to give my age in dollars: $38. That's the cost of a week's worth of lattes, or a dinner out with your love. And it will provide enough clean safe drinking water for 1 person.
Charity: Water is a true non-profit. Their operating costs are covered by private donors, so 100% of the money YOU donate goes to providing clean water for people who need it, not lining the pockets of people who profit from the poor.
My goal is to raise $1000 this week. That will provide enough water for 50 people. Think of that! 50 children. Two elementary school classrooms full of kids who, thanks to you, will see six years old.
Please donate today, and help me make this the best birthday I've ever had.
Thank you for celebrating your birthday in such a meaningful way! I am inspired!
You don't know me, but I appreciate you. God Bless!
