This year I'm celebrating my birthday differently. I don't want presents or drinks. I want clean water.

The truth is, I have clean water. But there are millions of others that do not. I take for granted daily the number of times I enjoy clean water. Brushing my teeth, making coffee, and quenching my thirst after an yoga session. I often feel selfish of such royal privileges. I have something that millions of others do not. So I ask myself what can I do? I CAN donate my birthday!

Women and children around the world walk hours every day to collect water for their families. I have witnessed this on my mission trips to Africa and it is truly heart breaking. I have seen children as young as two years old dragging filthy jugs to gather water from a source that is also used as their bathroom facility. These villages are getting very, very sick and we must be called to action. The good news is that we can actually do something about it. Just $20 can give a person clean water to drink.

The best part is that 100% of the money we raise will directly fund water projects around the world, and when those projects are complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the impact we made. I can't think of a better birthday gift than serving others and making a life changing impact on their lives.
