On 10/13, I'm turning 35.

At first, this seemed surreal, even daunting.

Every year I think of my birthday as a time to set my dreams and goals for the year. Last year I dreamed of going to Africa to dig a well. Life got in the way. Shamefully, It's the only goal I made that I did not achieve. Instead of crying about it, I'm donating this years birthday festivities to Charity Water. It's the next best thing.

Millions of people don't live to see their 5th birthday. And why? Because they didn't have access to clean, safe water.

So I'm not scared of turning 35 anymore. In fact, I'm celebrating my birthday like never before.

I'm asking for $35 from everyone I'm inviting to this years birthday bash. Please join me on my rooftop at 344 West 12th street, 10/13 at 7:30pm. I will have an open bar & live band. Every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations. Even better, every dollar is "proved" when the projects are complete, and photos and GPS coordinates are posted using Google Earth.

My goal is to raise $5000 by my birthday, 10/13.
