Over the course of the past few years God has truly blessed my Family and me. The numbers of opportunities that have come our way have been mind-boggling. I have traveled all over the country and some place outside the county and seen and met many interesting people. As you know I am on a track to get married to my beautiful fiancé Tiffany. Two weeks ago we attended a conference in Miami, FL called the One Conference. At that Conference a guy by the name of Scott Harrison spoke on be half of a non-profit organization he founded called Charity: Water. With over a billion people out of water across the world, this organization is a pioneer in bringing clean drinking water to these starving individuals. We take so much for granted in our daily lives, coming home and flipping the switch and the lights turning on. Going into the kitchen or the bathroom to find clean water coming out of the faucet. Most importantly, being able to grab a bottle of water out of the refrigerator or stopping by the local corner store to get one. Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Just $20 can provide one person with access to a clean water project. On average, projects cost $5,000 and can serve 250 people with clean water for their entire lives!

I could go on and on with all the statistics I have learned and researched over the past few weeks about this horrific problem we have across our nation and world. With all this said you may be wondering, “Josh where are you going with this?” I am writing this letter today to share my concern about this problem and ask you’ll for your help. This is something that has really hit me hard and I am going to put a lot of time and money in trying to move this cause forward. One of the most interesting things that Scott put together when founding this organization is the different ways to give.

I am sending this out at the time of my birthday to ask for donations instead of birthday presents. As you all know, I am not one to ask for things for my birthday, but everyone always seems to be generous and shower me with gifts. This year I would like it to be different, I would encourage you to get on the above website I mentioned and see if it touches your heart to make a donation in lieu of a birthday present.
