Freedom from Thirst is a charity:water project run by JBcharities, a fledgling organization focused on identifying and promoting ethical non-profits and charitable projects.
JBcharities is a Jewish organization and encourages people to pledge a percentage (usually 10%) of their income to doing good deeds. You do not need to be Jewish to participate in our work, nor do we encourage people to become Jewish. The only thing we want to spread is the culture of giving and equality.
Tzdakah is a central Jewish and humanitarian value. Many people translate this word to mean "charity." But Tzedakah is not something we do when we can. We have to do Tzedakah. It's just the right thing.
Charity:water is a great way to fulfill that obligation and whether you give $1, the suggested $20, or 10% of your salary per Jewish law, this is a fabulous way to fulfill the mitzvah/good deed.
Watch the video, follow us on Twitter (@jbcharities) and cultivate the sparks that lie dormant in our world.
Great cause. wish it could be more of a donation!
Thanks Joslyn for your spontaneous contribution!
Can't wait to get this thing started! :)
