Joy to the world, right?

One thing about joy and happiness, it translates into various things for people and definitely takes a drastic spin when we look at everything we take for granted.

Here's the reality about the holidays...Canadians spend around $30 billion a year on Christmas gifts and spend countless millions on decorations. The average person spends about $500-600 every year. We spend hundreds of dollars on holiday parties and dinners all celebrate the festive season and wish for happiness and good health.

Now don't get us wrong....

We all love that new ipod or HD TV and lets be honest who wouldn't. However, the ONE thing that we realized is that we take a lot for granted....

More than a billion people are living without water on our planet. Some walk miles every day to get to the nearest source: a stagnant, parasite-infested stream or pond. They lug it back to their families. They suffer from diarrhea, worms and skin diseases because they can't wash themselves. 45,000 people die each day from waterborne illnesses. Would you believe that for some people, retrieving water is one of the most difficult task of the day?

A little can go a very long way with water. Just $20 gives someone clean water for twenty years. And just $250 gives two families of six clean water. These are small amounts of cash to us. They are years of life for others.

These holidays, We're taking a step back from that world and want to really make a difference in peoples everyday lives.

Our mission is to raise $5000 by February 2010. 100% of every penny we raise will go directly to the water projects. And every project is "proved" using GPS technology and photos and put on Google Earth. Together, we'll be able to see the impact we've made.
