Whenever people ask me what I want for my birthday gift I have ALWAYS said nothing. And I meant it. Nothing material for sure. Just join me in the fun. But this year I do have a wish and that wish requires some help.

I'm turning 37 years old and instead of a gift I'm asking everyone I know for $37 or more. It's not going to me, though. Every penny of it is going to build a freshwater source for people in developing countries without this basic need.

Almost a billion people in the developing countries are living without clean water -- but how much are they actually living????

Millions contract serious, deadly diseases from contaminated water. 30,000 people will die this week because of this. (7,800 are babies and children) - 26%

The lucky ones may live, but still have to walk 3+ hours each day to get dirty water for their families.

My birthday wish this year is not for more gifts I don't need; it's to give safe drinking water to some people and their precious little ones. I want to make my birthday matter this year.

The best part: 18 months after this campaign ends - Charity: Water - will show us WHERE and HOW every dollar we raised ended up helping. We'll see GPS coordinates of the wells WE built together, photos! and details! about the communities we've impacted.
