Imagine if we all celebrated our birthdays this way. What a major difference we could make!

On September 14th, I'm turning 38. How cool is that! Yes, I said that.
And this year I want to celebrate it a little differently. Yeah, I will do dinner and drinks with friends, okay mostly just drinks. But I want this birthday to be something more, why wait to the 40th?

So I finally opened a link in my box that said, "Are you born in September?" I watched the video and I found out that millions of people don't live to see their 5th birthday. And why? Because they didn't have access to clean, safe water.

I decided I wanted to do the challenge presented and I'm celebrating my birthday like never before.

I'm asking for my age in donation dollars or any other amount from everyone I know - and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations. Even better, every dollar is "proved" when the projects are complete, and photos and GPS coordinates are posted using Google Earth.

My goal is to raise $3,800 by my birthday, September 14th and $10,000 by November 29, 2009.
