Hello my dear friends,

I don't normally do much for my birthday, but I recently learned about charity water (watch the video on the main page!) and felt moved to do something special with the people I care about most in my life.

I am so very grateful that birthday celebrations typically involve a loved one's treat to a delicious boba, cup of hot coffee, glass of red wine, a scoop of ice cream or a slice of cake! Since that won't be happening this year, I thought it would be awesome if the money that WOULD have been spent on those items could help people get access to clean water.

Clean water for us living in the United States is usually just a few steps away - whether it's the tap in our kitchen or a 3 minute drive to Trader Joe's. I don't often think about whether I will have access to clean water - but there are so many communities that do and many women walk for miles just to bring water to their families.

So to celebrate 33 healthy years, let's give 33 people the gift of clean water! :). ($1320 is the amount for 33 people)

Mission statement from charity water:

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
