Why Kim Barton Group of Keller Williams Legacy is fundraising for clean water

What 16 year old gives $5,000 to a charity?

Meghan is a tall quiet girl with a mischievous smile, the kind that makes you wonder what she is up to and one you can't help but smile back. Her brilliant blue eyes seem to read your mind and captivate your soul.

I met Meghan in her awkward middle school years while serving in the middle school ministry at our church. She was "the quiet one" in a group of rambunctious girls full of energy and vigor. Although Meghan was quiet she was not shy. When she spoke, it was the only time the rest of the youth group was quiet. It's like they knew she was wise beyond her years.

Shortly after Meghan entered high school she was diagnosed with terribly painful bone cancer that resulted in surgery, followed by chemo which consumed her high school experience.

Meghan was a runner. Her mom says she was "even faster than the boys." This made surgery to her leg hurt that much more. It was actually the fact that she slowed down that ultimately led to the discovery of her cancer.

About 2 years into Meghans journey she was granted a wish from Make a Wish Foundation. Meghan immediately shared with her family that she wanted to dig a well!
Her parents talked her into choosing a vacation instead. Because of COVD 19, the vacation was canceled to which Meghan responded "now can I dig a well?"

Who thinks like that? Who cares like that? at 16?

Needless to say we are honored to partner with Meghan and give her 5K "Make a Wish" gift to charity water with the hope you will help it multiply into 10K for a well or multiples of 10 for many wells so children and communities can have clean and safe water to drink, bathe , cook and clean with.

We are blessed to share Meghan's story with you. Let's see how many wells we can complete (10K at a time) to make Meghan's wish to bring clean and safe water to everyone that doesn't have it, come true!

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

This is a luxury that many around the world do not have. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. It doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

Kim Barton Group and our Family have decided to continually partner with charity:water and give a portion of the proceeds from each property we sell to help end the water crisis.

The water crisis has solutions and together we can help end it! Our goal of 10k will fund our second well and provide a community, usually about 250 people, with clean and safe water. Meghan gave 5K, won't you give as well?

Anything your heart feels called to give is a huge help to reach this goal. 100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects and when they’re complete, charity: water will share photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

Thank you for your support as we build community at home and across the world!
