Every day, 1,400 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. Let's help change that!
I’m turning 21 soon (woohoo!), and I did some thinking.
We take many things for granted in this life, and I do it all the time. The internet, travel, books, and all the endless possibilities and blessings we have.
But I never thought of water.
I mean, it seemed like breathing, it’s an obvious part, there’s no such thing as no water. You just go to the kitchen, turn on the tap, and there it is. Simple, right?
Well, turns out that for 740+ million people, it’s not quite true…
Every day, 1,400 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. But it doesn't have to be that way.
So this year I decided to raise minmum of 1000$ to give back, to help others.
It’s simple really, you donate if you’d like, and I’ll match the first 250$ you raise together with my own. You can place 50$ or 5$, or even 1$, just try it and see what it feels like to help other people.
100% of every dollar you donate to my birthday campaign will be used to build clean water projects in developing countries. CharityWater funds their operating costs separately through a group of private donors, so 100% of all public donations will go directly to people in need.
I never knew what to ask at birthdays (besides money lol), and I’d like us to turn away from ourselves for once and try to give back.
Thank you :)
Happy bithday to dvir, behavior like this makes you a real man. -YT Liang
