Yay! My birthday is around the corner!

Hard to imagine it's been almost one year since I moved to New York. I've taken a moment to reflect on the last year and take note of how fortunate I am to have been able to live out my dream of living in the big apple. Despite the hardships I've faced since my arrival, I have a loving family who supports me, incredible friends, a successful career and most of all my health.
I don’t usually go out of my way to ask for presents, but this year I’ve decided to make an exception. I’m asking all my friends and family to donate to charity: water and give clean water to people who need it. I’m giving up my birthday for charity: water.
Everyone who knows me already knows I'm philanthropic, but I have never been quite as moved as I was when I recently learned that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that.

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. The best part is that 100% of the money we raise will directly fund water projects around the world, and when those projects are complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the impact we made. I can't think of a better birthday gift.

Help me hit my goal of $1,030 and make this the best 30th birthday ever! If we can get there together, we’ll save over 50 people’s lives. Now that’s major - something we can all feel great about.
