On July 2, I turned... well, you can see the suggested amount. Ha.
Rather than gifts this year, I want to do something different-- something that lasts longer and makes more of an impact.
I hope you'll join me in supporting charity:water's mission of providing clean, safe drinking water to the more than 800 million (1 in 9!) people around the world who are without it. Donate what you can in lieu of the stuff you might have sent me or drinks you may have bought when we hang out in person. :)
Each semester at NYU, I ask charity:water's director of digital, Paull Young, to speak to my social media class. Turns out they're not only good at helping make the world a better place, but they kick butt in the social media arena as well.
I really believe in what they're doing, and I hope that the video at right and other areas of this site will help you see why! It's really a unique and passionate group.
What's more, we'll all get to see where our donations go: with GPS coordinates and real photos of the well we help build and the people who are better off because of us-- even though they're half a world away. And, 100% of our donations go directly to a freshwater project!
My goal is to raise $1,300 this month. Please join me to make this birthday count.
Thanks for your generosity and for being great friends and family!
Much love,
Lisa
