On September 12, I'm turning 37. (Miracles do happen!!)

Last year, I found out that millions of people don't live to see their 5th birthday. And why? Because they didn't have access to clean, safe water. (And we complain because we can't water our lawn more often!!)

So this year, once again I'm celebrating my birthday by helping others reach their next one too.

I'm asking for $37(one for each of my years) from everyone I know - and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations. Even better, every dollar is "proved" when the projects are complete, and photos and GPS coordinates are posted using Google Earth.

My goal is to raise $2,000 by my birthday. That's a chunk of a of a new well for a village in a remote part of the world. People whom we'll likely never meet, but thanks to YOUR generosity will be able to make it to their next birthday.

Talk about glass half full, huh?
