Why Lydia Samuel is fundraising for clean water

There are 800 million people in the world living without access to clean water. Let's change that!

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

If you’re like me, you don’t spend too much time thinking about water -- it’s everywhere we go. When we’re thirsty, we flip a handle or push a button. When we’re dirty, we twist a shower knob. When our garden needs watering, when our pasta needs to be boiled, when we use the bathroom -- water is just an arm's length away.

But, in many developing countries, women and children walk for hours, up and down mountains, just to collect water that can make them really sick.

La Jolla High Schools African Union Club and I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

Help me play a small part in solving the water crisis -- donate to my campaign.
