There might be plentiful amounts of water in Minecraft, and it may be good for nothing more than putting out fires and climbing, but in real life that's not quite the case. If you didn't know, clean water is kind of important, and not everyone has access to this basic human need.

100% of the money raised in this campaign will fund clean water projects in parts of the world where it is needed. Charity: Water is a very legit charity. Feel free to snoop around the website and read up on the charity and stuff before parting with your cash.

And remember, if you donate over $5 and include your in-game name for Minecraft in your donation message, you'll be whitelisted on a server where you can help fellow donators build a fort, the progress of which will be followed on the stream. If you donate even more, you'll have a chance (not making any promises) to be a puppeteer in a machinima or take part in games which will be streamed.
