There are 748 million people in the world living without access to clean water. Let's change that!

My birthday is almost here. I'm not usually excited about getting older, but this year I'm really thankful to have lived another happy, healthy year. As a traveler, I've seen first hand the needs of other communities and villages. To know that many people still don't have access to clean drinking water is tough to understand.

I want to help. We've committed a portion of every dollar we earn to help bring clean drinking water to world. Once a year, on my birthday, we ask our friends and clients to join in this effort and help us build a well in a community without access to clean drinking water.

Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 21 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
