There is so much talk about the increase in HIV/Aids in Africa. Only a few are talking about the breakdown in immune systems FROM LACK OF CLEAN WATER in Africa.

Every morning and night, I give thanks for the air, the water, the food and the shelter I am blessed with. These are the most basic necessities of life.

It is so easy for us in the developed world to take water for granted.

Yet, while it is the second most important thing for life (after air), millions in Africa do NOT have access to it. I am not an expert, but it just seems to me that there is a mix up in the priorities.

Providing drugs to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa seems just so backward. Why don't we first ensure there is access to water???

If those millions had access to water, a most basic need, who knows what untold good we may do for them?

I had tears of gratitude in my eyes that there are people who are doing something about it and that they have given me an opportunity to donate in a way that has maximum impact.

This charity uses 100% of the donated money for water. All admin is taken care of by other private donations.

From their site: "Just $20 can give one person clean water for 20 years. An average water project costs $5,000 and can serve 250 people with clean, safe water." Absolute awesome.

P.S. So many of the world's problems that are delivered to our living rooms nightly just make us feel helpless and overwhelmed. This project allows us to contribute at a very basic, basic level.
