Access to water is access to life! Let's give young girls an opportunity to education and freedom!

When it comes to birthdays, I don’t usually ask for presents, but this year I’ve decided to make an exception. I’m asking all my friends and family to donate to charity: water so we can provide access to clean water for a rural community in Ethiopia.

I have directly witnessed the effects lack of access to water can have- curtailing the future of young girls, and boys- my mother was one of those girls who had to give up her education for water- silly, I know. But it's reality for most girls in developing countries. Thankfully, I have been fortunate enough to be granted an opportunity to education and clean water for daily use, clean water to drink or cook with. Something we all take for granted at times yet happens to be coveted in rural communities. So, I'd like to do what I can to provide another girl the opportunity I’ve been blessed with- to be healthy of water-related illnesses and freedom to pursue her dreams and aspirations.
