Why NAHS/Art Club of Kingsway Regional High School is fundraising for clean water

Every year at Kingsway, we have our annual art show. This year, some student artists have donated their artwork for an art auction to benefit charity: water. The art show and auction this year will take place on March 19th at Kingsway Regional High School. Not all of the artwork is for sale, so look for designated pieces at the show that you may be interested in!

By purchasing artwork through the Art Auction, not only are you investing in a Kingsway student work of art, you are also helping to provide clean drinking water to people around the world. Your donation is being given directly to charity: water. We chose this charity because 100% of our donations go directly to funding water projects that provide clean water to those who need it. The operating costs of charity: water come from private donors, foundations and sponsors, and cover everything from staff salaries to basic office systems to office rent and supplies. This allows charity: water to use all of our donated money for water projects that benefit those without clean drinking water around the globe. Each $20 donation provides clean drinking water for one person.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, 5,000 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

We started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and we need your help. 100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

World Water Day is on March 22nd- so there is no better time to donate to charity: water. World Water Day is a United Nations sponsored event to draw attention to water issues around the globe, and happens every year on March 22nd.

Our goal is to raise $200 through the auction of student artwork; in other words, we hope to be able to supply 10 people with clean drinking water.
