There are 800 million people in the world living without access to clean water. Let's change that!
This past February while attending the RSA Conference in San Francisco I was present for a keynote speech given by Scott Harrison, the founder of Charity: Water. His talk lasted about one hour and everyone, including myself was speechless as we learned how millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. I was literally in tears when Scott was finished. Immediately inspired to help with this cause, I promised myself this year I would pledge my birthday on behalf of all those affected by not having clean, safe water to drink and help change that.
Please take 48 minutes and 29 seconds out of your day to watch his inspiring talk that had me in tears here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9Ma7qQ_x30
I'm not usually excited about getting older, but this year I'm really thankful to have lived another happy, healthy year. As promised since my birthday is arriving shortly I'm kicking off a campaign to help bring clean water to children around the world.
I'll be 36 years old on August 24th this year and I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
Help me reach my goal. Please donate to my birthday campaign!
