Hello friends!

This year, I'll be celebrating my 24th birthday a little differently. After much reflection on all the things I have in life and all that I have to be grateful for, it's about time to start taking little baby steps to help those less fortunate.
As far as giving goes, I usually get stuck at a crucial beginning - WHO do I want to give to? WHAT should I be campaigning for? This year, I want to start simple - water.

As one of those things we take for granted on a daily basis, most, if not all of you are blessed with the freedom of clean drinking water at any given point in time of your life. To think that there are still people out there without the fortune of having such a basic need fulfilled is a farfetched thought that stretches far beyond our daily bubble.

With all that we have, there are still women and children around the world that need to walk hours every day to collect water for their families. And the worst part? The water they collect can make them really sick and the hours upon hours they spend making this trip could easily be used for an investment into their future - education.

I can't promise that I am 100% certain how all the funds donated will be directed, I am putting my trust on behalf of charity:water, an organisation that has dedicated its mission to funding water projects around the world, promising us that when the projects are complete, photos and GPS coordinates will be sent to us so we can see the impact of your gift. Since 2006, the organisation has helped fund more than 6,500 projects around the world and benefited over 2.5 million people.

I don't want a huge arbitrary sum, so I've created a small little campaign titled "Walk For Water - 9/13". From now till September 13th, if there is a chance you can save money on transportation and take a walk to your destination instead, it would be benefit both you and this campaign to see if we can together make an impact for people other than ourselves.

Re-discover the world around you by taking in the sights of your surroundings while contributing a little of your efforts and energy to those who have less than us.
