December 21st is my birthday, and this year I am donating my birthday to charity: water. Instead of giving me a gift, why not make my birthday more memorable for others by donating for a good cause? To sweeten the offer (literally), I'll be baking something for you to make it even more worthwhile. Please find the MENU below.

$10 - a bag of candies nuts (great party snack!);

$20 - a box of chocolate covered peanut butter cookies (4 pieces, office favorite!);

$30 - a loaf of banana bread. (My first and favorite thing to bake!)

$80 - a secret cake from Ning - Happiness guaranteed! :)

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I know how delicious water can taste, especially after I cross the finish line of a marathon. Thus I want to run my birthday as a campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world.

Baked goodies delivery will start in January 2019. I will follow up with you individually on the exact when and where you can receive your sweets. For those of you who live outside of Amsterdam, I will bake for you (and give you a big hug) when we meet again.:)

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
