Why Noah Musse Barclay is fundraising for clean water

Thank you everyone for all your support. During our first fund raising period we earned $660 for clean water projects! We are starting our second fundraising period tomorrow.

Noah was born in Desse, Ethiopia in the spring of 2002. He has been a witness to death, extreme poverty, and he knows thirst. Although you would think the first six years of his life in Ethiopia would affect his spirit, that is far from reality. Noah loves Ethiopia and his heart still warms for those of his family he left behind after his adoption in 2008. Taking his love for Ethiopia's culture and his compassionate spirit, Noah has formed a weaving group among several of his fourth grade classmates.

The looms are 8x10 picture frames purchased at Goodwill. The yarn is donated from a variety of family friends. The final product...8x7 pieces of woven art...are simply priceless. Noah and his friends sell their art for $5.00 a piece at a local Saturday Market and among family and friends with 100% of the money going toward a clean water project. It is Noah's hope that this weaving project, Weaving for Water, can spread across the country, whether that be a classroom weaving 25 pieces of art to be sold through their school, a Girl Scout troop weaving their art to be sold at a Holiday Bazaar, or in Noah's case...a group of friends getting together a few hours a week to simply make a difference in the world.

Once the money is collected for the sales it is dropped into Noah's account at charity:water mycharitywater.org/weavingforwater. Charity:water is a non profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations.
