This year I'm turning 29.

This year is my last year of being twenties and I want to do it differently.

I realized that I've been blessed abundantly with good family, good friends, good career, good spiritual guidance and many others. One of the blessing that I often take for granted is clean water. All my life, I was able to drink clean water and enjoy the benefit of living in a country that has good infrastructure to provide clean water. But there are 800 million others that don't have that luxury. So I want to change that.

My birthday is on May 21st. But during the week of May 21st, I will be drilling a well to bring clean water to a village in Guatemala. (Thanks to Jason Ko and LinkedIn for the opportunity).

Honestly, I don't know how many people would celebrate a birthday party for me or how many would send me gift. But for those people who plan to celebrate for me, this year I'm asking you to donate for clean water instead. After all I won't be in town to celebrate with you guys ;-) So you might as well as donate for the good cause (and you get tax deductible donation written for you)

I have never fund raise for a cause before so I'm not aiming for a high goal. I want to set a goal that I think should be doable. If there are 15 people who donated $29, we'd reach the target. (otherwise it just show how bad I am at fundraising but that's another story) But I'm sure we can do it. It'd be cool if we can exceed the goal though. :-)
