Why Phil Kniesel is fundraising for clean water

On November 21, I'm turning 38. Yeah I know pretty nuts.

At first I did the usual thinking of what people could get me for my birthday. But then I found out that millions of individuals don't live to see their fifth birthdays. And why? Because they don't have access to clean, safe water.

So that kind of bothered me. So instead of just doing nothing like I have done in the past, I decided to do something that I think is worth doing in life. I'm celebrating my birthday like never before.

I'm asking for $38 from everyone I know -- and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund clean water projects in developing nations. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll be able to see the communities we've helped!

My goal is to raise $3500 by my birthday, November 21.

Please join me to make this birthday count.
