Almost ten years ago, my grade partner, Steve Finegan, mentioned an event he heard about that brought clean water to people in need. We did some research and found out about Charity Water. When we learned that too many women and children were spending hours a day walking for dirty water that could make them sick or even kill them, we decided we had to help. Since then, we try bringing awareness to our students on the situation by trying to replicate what it must be like to have to walk for water. Every year Mr. Muller, Mr. Finegan, and I have the students carry a gallon of water and walk a mile outside of the Kennett Middle School to help raise money for Charity Water. We have raised over 10,000 for Charity Water which has brought clean to all parts of the world to people in need.
