My birthday is almost here! After reading a kid's book called "A Long Walk To Water" by Linda Sue Park, I decided to donate my birthday to a greater cause. If you think Los Angeles tap water is gross, consider this: millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. You and I can help change that.
In lieu of a birthday celebration this year, I'm asking for my age in dollars (32... yikes!). Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. What's cool is that "charity: water" will show us exactly which projects we funded once they are fully completed (which takes about 21 months) so we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
So instead of buying me a birthday drink or joining me for dinner, please give others the opportunity to have access to clean drinking water by donating to my birthday campaign!
