Every day, 5,000 kids under the age of 5 die from reasons that are preventable; no access to clean drinking water.
My birthday is almost here. I'm excited to enter into another year! I recently learned that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that.
I have almost 1000 facebook friends. If every friend were to donate $1, we could make an incredible difference in these kid's lives. Just think about how easy our lives are. I grumble when the pop machine is out of Diet Coke. What if I had to go without drinking anything? What if I had to walk 3 miles to get water, only to find it soiled with animal feces?
Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). I have proof on my opening page of where my previous donations have went to work at.
